Chemistry & Biochemistry Department

Created by former Augustana Professor Dr. Gary Earl, this is an honors program for incoming first-year students. Chemistry and biochemistry majors participate in a valuable 1-credit course that covers the philosophy and nature of chemistry, examines a variety of career paths and provides students with an introductory professional development. Students also participate as junior laboratory assistants in the spring semester. Students who meet the requirements for the fellowship are strongly encouraged to apply for research funding during the summer after their first year.
